Hi guys,

I tried looking on the forums for what type of memory to buy for my A64 3000 but i haven't been able to find out. I'll be using the rig for image editing and some light 3d modeling. I have an Asus K8V but I'm not sure what mem to get for it. Do I need to purchase a match kit of 1GB of Ram? I know PC3200 is what I'm getting but not sure on what timings....cl2 cl2.5? I'm looking to spend $200-250 on memory. Do I buy single channel or dual channel for the A64 since it only has a single channel ..correct?

thanks.

Well, I recommend Kinston Hyperx PC3500 CAS2. Mushkin CAS2 PC3500 (I think level1 has this) would be my second choice. It seems SOME people have had problems when they buy cheap memory for the Athlon64. I know the Kingston Hyperx works since I have it. It does 218 HTT at stock. Rock solid.

Edit: Welcome to the forums. Also, yes dual channel doesn't matter, but if you want a gig, I recommend to get the same kind (don't think it has to be a matched set though)
