a64 heatsink retention mechanism how do you remove it

just go an asrock a64 board (temp until the k8n-e is available) and want to attach my slk948 so I need to remove the stock retention mechanism. On the neo it was attached with screws on the asrock there are 4 white plastic pins, any ideea how to remove it without damaging the pins?

hmm, if its anything like the asus k8v, its held on by adhesive which can be removed slowly and carefully. you can put a flathead screwdriver between plate and board and gently pry them apart. worth a try, but im not 100% sure that's the case.

doesnt have a backplate, just the top peice that i am talking about (the peice the heatsink connects to, that surounds the socket).

bracket appears to be made by thermaltake, not sure if that will help anyone with solving my problem

i took a look at the picture, and i believe you pull those white tabs upward and the mechanism should pop off.

got it, ended up using a torx screw driver to push them through the bottom then pulled with a needlenose pliers, pain in the neck but it works. Thanks
