I have 2 choices, if it's not too much trouble I would like no bs facts about what will perform better in the real world of gaming. I may overclock slightly in the future, but i don't want my buy to be based on that.

ABIT Av8+AMD64 3200+ winchester
or
MSI K8N Neo platinum+ AMD64 3400+ newcastle

Thanks for the help

The 3400+ will definitely beat the 3200+, but probably not by any margin you'd notice in your usage. A Winchester's practically guaranteed to overclock to high speeds like 2.6GHz (often with the stock heatsink), though, so consider that (possibly with a better board like the Epox EP-9NDA3+). (These chips will often get to at least 2.2GHz--3500+ speed--without a bump in VCore.) If you go 754, I'd get the DFI Lanparty board instead of the MSI (they should be about the same price).

they are about the same price for both setups. And the only other mobo's available from the store i want to buy from are:
ASUS a8v-939
MSI neo plat2-939
ASUS k8n-e deluxe-754
ASUS k8v-se deluxe

I also forgot to mention that I will most likely not be upgrading this system, so lets not dwell on that aspect:)

If you're not upgrading it at all, go S754 with that same MSI board (I take it you live in a country where you can't order through Newegg or NCIX).

That abit board is via, its not to good for overlocking, for a 939 board, I suggest the epox or wait for DFI 939 boards. The 3200 is the way to go if your overclocking but you need good memory that can reach high FSB which can be pricey when you want a gig of ram. THe 754 outperforms the 3200+, but 754 is not future proof and if its the 3400 claw hammer your talking about, they dont oc very well., DFI makes the best 754 mobo. I'd go with 939.

Option 1: 3200+ winchester + epox nfoce3 mobo + some g-skill TCCD 2x 512 or some other good TCCD or high rated memory. (best overclocking results)

Option 2: 3200+ winchester + epox mobo + value mem (poor overlocking results)

def go with with the DFI nforce board for 754 if you decide to go 754.

ts3433 i live in canada, the country that ncix is from, but when i order from this other site, then i dont need to use a credit card(i pay cash) and also it comes in a day later.

I've heard about msi boards having leaky capacitors, what happens if they leak(damage to other parts?), and will MSI replace my broken parts should this happen?
