A64+ fan speed for a Hot CPU?

My rig seems to be running high temps (low to mid 50s) at idle, but I'm not sure if the issue is due to the CPU fan speed. According to the bios, it spinning at about 2500 rpm. Does this seem kind of low?

my a64 3000+ (@2.2) fan runs at 2200rpm(default hsf) and my computer never goes over 42C. NOW, i can guarantee that your case ambient temperature is ~40C. By lowering my ambient temp 10C to 28-31C my cpu temp also dropped 10C. You should fix the root of the cause and not work around it, so improve your case airflow
