A64 and micro-atx mini tower

Hi,

I have a mini tower microatx case that can take an atx power supply. It used to have a PIII in it where the cpu sat directly underneath the power supply. The PIII has a small heat sink and fan so didn't come any where near the PSU.

I want to put an a64 3200 and new motherboard in the same case (with a new power supply) but i'm not sure how big the retail heatsink and fan are. There is about 2 1/4 inches from the pcb of the mortherboard to the psu, my other pc which has a retail athlonxp which has a big heatsink that would only just fit, leaving only a tiny gap at the top of the fan. Is the A64's heatsink the same size, or bigger?

If you use the MSI RS480M2-IL motherboard, you can use a Zalman CNPS7000 on it.

Photo HERE.

The Zalman CNPS7000 is barely 3 inches tall, and should fit under your PSU.

That case in that photo is an Ahanix MCE301 by the way.. A very nice microATX case that will also take a full-sized ATX PSU.
