A64 4000+ Problems

I was having the most dang difficult time trying to find out what was wrong with my system. I thought it was the mobo/mem/vid and I replaced them all thinking they were the problem. I eventually decided to switch my 4000+ with my 3500+ I had lying around and still nothing. I then replaced my 1GB OCZ PC4800 EL Platinum with some standard 1GB Crucial PC3200. Right after I replaced that my computer ran without a hitch. WTF?!? Both the 4000+ and OCZ were working in previous systems, so what's the problem with mine?

Also, this is the stepping for my 4000+, any good or absolutely horrible?
