Using A64 Info program and Core 0 temp is always 7 to 8 degrees celcius hotter than core 1. Is this normal? I haven't even overclocked yet and it reads 43 and 36. Should I RMA the cpu?

I've tried 3 or 4 different X2 chips (several 3800s and a single 4200+) and always noticed a 6-8C difference between cores when using Core Temp.

I never really could find an answer. I suspect Core Temp is just reporting a bogus monitoring temp and the fault lies with the MB, not Core Temp.

Glad I'm not alone. I'll assume it's normal. And I made sure I spread AS5 on the entire HS so I know that's not the culprit.
