Hey,
My system is as follows:
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
A64 3500+ S939 90nm Winchester
2x512MB G. Skill DDR550 2.5-4-4-8
2xWD Raptors 36GB 10000RPM (connected to SATA3/4)
Last week I had my machine 100% stable at 289HTT, 3x HT, 9x CPU mult, AGP Freq 67MHz, 1.5V vcore and 5% vcore increase, ram @ 166 divider so DDR472 2.5-4-4-8 1T.
It ran prime95 for 32 hours straight no problems, memtest for I believe over 24 hours, no problems (test #5).
Yesterday night I decided I'd mess around, see if I could get it to go any higher, cos I don't think I had ever tried before. I should have increased more slowly, but just curious I raised it to 312HTT (for 2800MHz). It booted, but froze after the initial boot screen, and I wasn't able to enter CMOS to reset it. So I reset the CMOS by jumper -- no problems, booted fine. I reset all my settings for my 289HTT overclock, I have all the settings pretty much memorized, and booted my system. Got into Windows XP, started experiencing some blue screen MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION errors followed by reboots. It continuously did this, and I could not understand as I had reverted to the same settings that were 100% rock solid stable for the past couple weeks. I had enormous Windows uptimes, played games, primed and memtested everything 100% perfect. Anyway I load up counter strike source, I hadn't even died once yet and I got a ton of video distortion and my computer locked.
Last night while asleep I memtest'ed again at the 289HTT setting, 2.5.4-4-8 1T DDR472, test #5, and it ran 12 hours no problems. So i'm back in Windows now, gonna try counter strike source for another little while, and then prime it the rest of the day after that. Does anyone know why it would do this though? 100% stable for the last little while, then I have to reset my BIOS and I restore the same settings, but it crashes now with MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION's and crashes in 3D with vid distrotion and freezing?
Thanks,
phrowzen
