i just bought the A64 3400+ (754)and Abit max3 MB i plan to OC and need some good suggestions for air cooling or water cooling if i can get into it for around $100..Air i will spend around $50 give me some links on some good cooling.

Thanks,
Chris

You won't find any water cooling rigs that will cool well enough to OC for around $100 (or under). For about $200 you can get a decent system. For $300 (or so) you can build/assemble a really good liquid cooling system for your processor and more (for when you want to add your video card to the system and/or hard drives too).

I'd suggest sifting through the recent threads (ones hit in the past month or so) since there are more than a few recommendations there for both types of cooling.

I built my setup for my athlon 64 system...

Via Aqua 1300 Pump - not a bad pump at all.. $17
Clearflex 60 - 10ft $10
Maze 4 GPU $35
Maze 4 CPU $40
1977 Bonneville Heatercore w/AC $17
2 120mm fans I had laying around $free
clamps $5
t-section stuff $5
Drill & Bits to mod my case.. no problem.. u can use an external box like a rubbermaid container 🙂

so what's that?

139?

Not too bad.. skip out on the GPU block and it is $100
I keep the room at 80F and get cpu temps of 37C idle. 41C load. Well I just set my system up so it should go down some with the thermal goop setting in.

Cooling a 3000 A64 Processor. I need a better mobo to OC more :frown:

I've always been a fan of the slk (slk900 is the latest I believe) series of heatsinks. I think they make an a64 mountable heatsink.
