A64 3200+

What is the A64 equal to in the Intel P4 line. Just curious. Merry Christmas

An A64 3200+ is about equal to a P4 3.2. The rating is there to help people understand that they are about the same

That's how they're priced, but in some applications (gaming, for example) lower rated A64s are on par with more expensive Intels--Anand even had one game bench where a 3400+ gave a 3.4EE a run for its money.

yes, the whole A64 line is MUCH better for gaming than the P4 line, even the EE's can touch the higher spec A64's.

I go with whatever fits your upgrade path.

The 775 intel P4's didn't fit my upgrade path especially when it came to AGP chipsets. Buying a new PCI-Express video card was not an option. A similar issue happened to me when apple went from os 9 to X. A lot of my software didn't work which left a bad upgrade taste in my mouth when I perchased a G4.

So after 3.5-4 years with a P3 1 Ghz, I decdied on going with the AMD 3000+ Winchester. However, if I had known about monarchcomputer.com I probably would of gone with a 3200+ or 3500+.
