A64 3200+ (939) Overclock

I have OCed my A64 3200+ Winchester (Socket 939) on my K8N Neo2 Platinum mobo to 2.53GHz. Currently, in BIOS, I have the voltage set to 1.525v, but in CPU-Z or Sandra 2005, or Everest Home, the voltage comes up between 1.43-1.46v. Is this too low? Should I have a higher voltage, or am I fine. I don't have any stability problems, but I just want to be sure.

Here's the breakdown:

CPU: 2.53GHz (253MHz FSB, 4x HTT, 1.525v (in BIOS), 1.43-1.46v (in Windoze))
Memory: DDR400 @ 210MHz (set to DDR333, then OCed to 210MHz), default voltage
Voltage: 1.525v, By CPU VID

P.S.

How's my OC?

Thats a nice chip! Those volts are great for your O/C, if its stable you don't need anymore volts unless you want to push it farther. As long as your temps are OK you could safely give it more. With my 3200+ I'm using 1.57-1.58v per CPUZ etc... @2629mhz and my temps are 40c idle 53c load, and I've been running it this way 24/7 for over three months now without a hitch.

The board undervolts and your bios hardware montioring area should agree with corecell and most all apps in the windows enviroment...

I think you should set it to 1.5v and set the 5% overvid...this will give you 1.52v idle and load at 1.54v...NIce to actually have a system that volts up when you need it instead of the old vcore "droop"....

This is a nice safe 10% overvolt from stock 1.4v....If temps looks good run it here...Go for 2.6ghz...I think you can get !!!!

Temps right now at the voltages that I reported are 38c idle and 58c load. I don't think those are too bad, considering Prescotts run at 70c+ under load 😛 .

Meanwhile, I'll try for 2.6GHz and see how that turns out. BTW, does anyone think I can get to 2.7GHz 😀 ?

AMD 64's maximum tempereture is rated at 70C, so be careful with the temps when you overclock it more.

is that correct..I thought max temps were higher than 70C on A64??
also the Neo 2 plat does not report temps accurately

wow..I just reread the post..you are low vcore..give it more juice and lower the ram settings to find the cpu max..I bet 2600 is slamdunk and 2700 may be in reach

Edit: I was not suggesting he a abnormal low vcore but that the vcore was near default and he has room to increase it to raise the overclock

Hmm..I own a Neo 2 Plat...and it undervolts even at load but to a lesser degree as you increase vcore....
I have my vcore set as 1.5v with 8.3% over vid....non load is 1.55-1.57v...load 1.58(sometimes as high as 1.6v)
