A64 3000 win, xp-120, not stupid overclocking question

In the overclocking guide the recommended voltage is not to exceed 1.55v, is this an absolute? My idle/load temps are 34/44C. I was unlucky and got a crappy 0503, and have only been able to get 2.2 stable out of it. Should I call it quits?

My question is: Even though I'm at the voltage "max," it seems as though I can run the chip a bit hotter, so do I obey the voltage rule or the temp rule?

I'm running my 3000+ at 2250 at 1.65volts with no adverse effects.

It certainly isnt fool proof - but it does seem to work for many as long as load temps stay under 55
