A64 2000+ 1Ghz, 0.90v, 8W

Looks like a nifty little power-saving processor. I wonder how many existing A64 CPUs could be scaled down to 1Ghz and less than 1v stably, perhaps using RMclock.

Impossible. AMD sucks, they don't produce anything that could even beat a Cyrix MX 166.

/sarcasm

This seems like a nifty platform. It'd probably work well for an HD HTPC, as long as you're not using encrypted streams. I might throw together a DVR for the bedroom using this just to give it a shot.

I saw a list of new AMD cpus and it included new 22w 1.6ghz dual core models. Few other 45w chips too. Looks neat.

I actually think the 780G is just a real dandy chipset, well made, good IGP and the green power consumption rivals the best boards out there. the only grip I have with these 780Gs are the form factor, if they can be much smaller I think they will be more useful in ultra small cases. but all in all great chipset.

Yea, this looks good for AMD, they can hit the "green" and the mainstream market with these.

Anyway, nyker, I think some companies are already making mini-ITX boards with Nvidia 8200s, so I guess a 780G board isn't out of the question.

I wonder how well these overclock as it can be inserted into AM2 sockets.

Slap on a nice aftermarket HSF and lets see how high this single core can go!

Actually, there already is a 780G ITX motherboard out:

Too bad availability of this motherboard seems to be limited to Asia and Australia... 🙁
