A6-3670k available @ newegg

So, like, how is that this thing is available right now for retail and yet there are no reviews out there, AT included, delving into all the juicy details regarding OC'ability, power-consumption, performance, etc etc? 😕

At $130 it seems to me that this thing ought to give both the 2500K and 2600K (also unlocked quads w/iGPU's) a run for their place in the budget enthusiast market.

well my friendly neighborhood admin if the 3870k is any indication it oc's pretty easily and can hit low - mid 3000mhz without too much trouble, it should also be able to stop all over similarly preforming competition to the 3650 when it does so.
on the hole id probably put it right next to a phIIx4 970 after an oc possibly the 975
after doing some digging i found an OC result for the 3670k. someone took it to 3.3ghz using AXTU

i also have test results @ 3.5ghz running super pi and 3d mark 11:

comparatively speaking the 3670k in super pi (@ 3.5) is equal to the best mobile core i3 (1st gen) intel has to offer. dont doubt its size, this much is clear
currently the 1st review is slated to come straight outta chiphades. expect that within the next few days

If only Hybrid Crossfire would work with a 78xx series GPU, I'd be very tempted to buy one of these today.

I'd love to see some power and performance benches at a good overclock. Strange that none are out there.

yeah its strange that its out before any noteable reviews.
but hopefully CHH will save us

What? At $130 its closest competitor is the i3-2100, not chips that cost almost $100 and $200 more, respectively. Unless you mean to imply that this might be a better choice for some than the 2500K...?

Odd that Newegg's calling it an A6-3670K when Anand and other site owners all called it an A8-3670K. Typo?

Anyway, I'm waiting for an A8-3870K to show up somewhere for close to MSRP. It will replace the i3-2100 in my daily driver. Should offer roughly equivalent performance once overclocked modestly while allowing me to play L4D/L4D2.

My point was that it is a bracket that is not addressed by Intel when it comes to unlocked quads with iGPU's. Price/performance.

Phoronix only got it up to 3.5GHz stable for their benches and mentioned it could hit 4GHz but was not stable. Will need to see some meatier reviews from OC happy sites but so far it looks like there is plenty of room for improvement for AMD designs on GF 32nm.

It would be nice if I'm completely off base and most of these K series Llanos can get to the C3 and Thuban 45nm clocks of ~4GHz. I think it would clearly be a welcome $125 bracket replacement for the phased out 45nm chips.

i have mine @ 3100mhz @ default voltage
havent tried mnessing with it further its stable & got to about 29c running prime95
antec perf max hsf

what is this chip meant for? what does it compare to? just asking as i was considering a 960t.

Wouldn't it be nice to know? I'm surprised no major reviews came out on this chip detailing its overclockability, platform nuances, price/performance, etc. Its pretty much ignored from what I can tell.

It seems after the first initial releases of Llano, the whole platform has been ignored.

Seems to hit 3.5-3.6GHz consistently, not bad for it's price bracket if you will OC but not quite as good as the later 45nm Phenom II x4 offerings outside of the nice IGP. If you aren't in a hurry, I'm not, then I suggest waiting to see Trinity and IB ~$125 offerings.

No, you didn't. They tested it for 16 pages at stock speeds, spent one quick page explaining that they got it to ~3.6 ghz, and posted no performance or power consumption figures at those speeds.

They also didn't mention the GPU OC portion of it being BE chip. Pretty worthless, I think everyone knows that it is going to be a pinch faster than the A8-3850 without a review.
