A4 3400 or Celeron G530

I made a thead in the general hardware section about building an ultra budget build and I have narrowed the cpus down to the a4 3400 and g530. The rig will be mainly used for usualy web surfing, streaming netflix, and playing mild games such as live for speed and iracing. Which one of these would u guys recommend?

I have the 3400 with an ssd. It's just as fast and responsive as my i7 with an ssd. (minus gaming). Refering to streaming, word, etc.

Oh I shouldve stated earlier that we have a 6670, so we won't be needing a gfx card

I don't think hybrid Xfire is worth it (original AT reviewed showed negative scaling with DX9), and since you won't be using Llano's GPU, it comes down to dual core Llano or dual core SB. Although for general usage either is fine, I would go Intel or consider quad Llano.

Edit: A4 Llano's have some limitations - no official DDR3 1866 support and only 160SP on the GPU (compared to 320 and 400 on A6 and A8). Neither of these matter when using the 6670, but then you still have those (relative to Intel) two slower cores.

K thanks for all your guys' suggestions. I'm trying to complete it by next Saturday so ill be sure to post updates

i have a g530 and it streams netflix and hulu just fine without a graphics card. I threw in a cheap 8800gt and it does mild gaming very good. I can only imagine with your better video card it should be a good experience

Last week I built a buddy a new pc on a really tight budget ($350). Was a Shuttle H67 barebones and I picked up the G530 ($60~). Pretty decent cpu. Can't really find decent reviews on the processor, but seems comparable to a Phenom II X2 555 BE for apps, but the Intel should be faster for gaming. With my few hours of experience with it it's a nice cpu for the price you're paying. We couldn't justify paying $120 for the i3-2100 (another dual core but w/ HT).

the intel rep told me the g530 is equal to a e7300 overclocked to 3ghz. For how cheap it is the cpu is pretty darn good
