A3D on Game Theater XP

Is there any way to get A3D support on the Hercules Game Theater XP? The box and manual say it supports A3D, but I'm not sure if enabling it works. I tried the s_a3d "1" command in Half-life but it didn't seem to do anything. Also, will it work in Q3Arena?
