a3d + half life + windows xp...how do you get a3d to work in windows xp?

I want to use a3d sound with Half Life but it's not working right with Windows XP. I've heard there ahve been issues with a3d and XP. is there a fix? thanks

To use A3D you need a soundcard (and drivers) that supports it.

From your sig it appears you have a SB Live 5.1. This soundcard does not support A3D. Only EAX. Half-Life does have a EAX option as well.
