It looks that in every pilot/co-pilot couple, one has to be left-handed and one has to be right-handed to handle teh joysticks properly... It looks weird to me.

The two units on the outer edge are the comm/nav radio control units. The four identical switches are fuel cutoff switches. The bunch of buttons below that control the video displays (which page to display be it FUEL, DOORS, GEAR, etc). Those hump things are for resting your palms on, and you cant see it, but there is a trackball/touchpad type thing on the front of that to control a pointer on those screens.

(dont nitpick me, theres more, but i'd have to explain every button...that is the gist of it, basically)

you are smart

Yea as pinkfuzzy guy said. The Red is avionics, specifically the radio controls basically... The hump things as you can see are pointers for the Flight Management Computer, along with the keyboard...

Man, that screen thing with the camera views is pretty sweet. I like the tail-forward view. I'd totally wave out the window to see if I could see myself.

Not really, when you think about it, with a normal yoke the left seater still controls the yoke with their left hand and use their right for other things, throttles for one.

Most pilots, at least the ones who aren't trained in the military, learn from the left seat and then build their hours instructing from the right seat.

lufthansa employees actually have a blog about the A380 - A380 blog. I don't know if you can submit a question but its actually a really cool page and def worht a look.

So whats the definitive answer on what the buttons do? I really like the plan and hope to fly on it someday soon. Anyone know when and where Lufthansa might start flying them across the Atlantic?
