A2DP not working in games only mono

This might belong under Peripherals but it is a windows and bluetooth problem.

I get excellent stereo when playing music on my Moto S305 headset. However, I can't get stereo to work when I want to play video games. It comes through as mono. Perfect example: start playing some music, go into your sound properties in Windows and click on the Record tab. It switches to mono!

I've exhausted my research as I have been working on this for 3 days. Not sure where to go from here. I just want to be able to play my steam games with my headset with good audio.

Windows 7 64 bit
latest broadcom drivers (iogear usb-bt adapater)
Moto S305 bluetooth headset

I'm not a Bluetooth guru, but my understanding is that A2DP only has enough bandwidth for 2 audio streams. So you get stereo output, or mono output + mono input. Wikipedia would seem to agree with me:
A2DP is designed to transfer a uni-directional 2-channel stereo audio stream, like music from an MP3 player, to a headset or car radio.
So if your games are activating your mic, then it would seem that it has to fall back to mono audio.

oooh.. I didn't know that. That's a real bummer.

Thanks for that info. I gotta figure out what my next step is then.
