has anyone taken this test? my friend told me its really easy. i want to take the test and get the certificate so it boost my chances of getting a job. you guys think its a good idea? i'm a junior in high school right now. thanks.

edit: where can i take this test?

Its a breeze. Brush up on stuff like IRQ's etc. Do they STILL have win 3.1 on the test? I remember they did a few years ago - that was a bummer.

it depends on what kind of job you're looking for,
A+ cert wouldn't help get you any type of serious engineering position.

Like all Computer Certs it's a joke. You learn what you need to know on the job and if it gets your foot in the door it's worth it!

CCIE, seriously thats about it - then it is negligable. Let me tell you, and all these ppl probably will argue, it is all about who you know these days.

I've got a degree in Information Systems, with a 3.7 average, and internship at a large data center for a hospital, and excellent references. I once had a CCNA (now expired), I've got several CompTIA Certs (A+, Network+, etc. . ). I can lay fiber, do a patch panel, understand servers, and even have patience for end users (a rarity).

I'm a dispatcher now.

I've done dozens of resumes, interviewed dozens of times, and am just sick of computers now. I'm getting a Masters in Public Administration now.

Now a football player I knew with a 2.1 average with a degree in General Studies is an IT manager at a local bank. Word has it he just contracts everything out. He has an uncle who was a judge, knows some politicians by first name, and is in the right circle. Not that I'm jealous, but I'm beginning to have a fundemental understanding that somethings just are.

My thoughts for you is to major is something like Poli Sci - intern for every politician you can . . . then do whatever you want when you graduate cause then you'll have the contacts to get the job.

the reason i might go for the A+ is to get "high school" jobs, if you know what i mean. not big career moves or anything (not yet anyways)

My school dropped my CISCO class and gave me A+ because of lack of equipment that was expected, but never received due to budget cuts.

Based on the first few descriptions I found on the class on google, it's going to be an easy 3 terms for me. 🙂

My foot's 5 years in the door, but I'm wondering if I should do certs for more money.

Is the Siamese in your video full-bred? If so that was a FAT Siamese (cool kat) 🙂

Yep. Full blooded male Siamese, lilac point (fixed) 22lbs at his largest even though he was always on high dollar diet cat food.
