Question A-XMP not setting right timings

Hi all, so I have an MSI MEG X570 ACE motherboard and some Kingston Hyper X Fury RAM - 32 GB DDR4-3600 17-21-21-39 1.35 V (Datasheet)

I have the latest BIOS for my board (7C35v18). When I enable A-XMP, it sets the RAM right except for the timings - it boots at 18-21-21-39 instead. All the other settings are good.

So I tried setting everything manually intstead - RAM Speed to 3600, 17-21-21-21-39 on the timings, DRAM Voltage to 1.35 V, everything else on Auto. With that, the board doesn't POST.

Anyone else on this board have A-XMP issues?

Thanks! 🙂

OK so I managed to get this sorted, I figured I'd post back in case someone has the same question - basically Gear Down mode being enabled causes this. From what I understand Ryzen doesn't like an odd number CAS latency so with Gear Down mode enabled, it just bumps it up one notch. If I wanted to tighten up the CAS, I'd have to go to CAS 16 instead of 17...might try that at some point when I get time; for now I'll keep it as is.

Ok good to know, I have the same board. Thanks for the heads up. I guess this means simply set all even timings for Ryzen chips?
