i have a friend who works for an RFID company which sells its services to huge pharmaceutical companies throughout the US. basically, you put an RFID sticker on a package and have a storage room that has an RFID tracking device to keep track of everything that is going in and out of the facility without using manpower for inventory tracking and the like. the system does it itself.

i didn't ever think of any alternate use for RFID until i saw this thread -- so i guess it's going to catch on pretty fast.

Well, RFID tags are being used for the same purpose with this mouse: tracking. RFID can be really useful in the future for many purposes. For example, we can tag our keys and locate them in the house using sensors

I don't plan on mousing on my knee. 😕

So, why have a wireless moust at all, if you're only going to mouse where your mousepad is?

because mouse cords suck. they get snagged on things or are too short and limit your ability to comfortably move the mouse where you want it.
