So is anyone going to explain how it's racism to beat up a kid because of a POLITICAL shirt?

I think this a good example why dress codes need to be enforced within our school system. I personally believe a uniform is the best option. But political shirts definately shouldnt be worn at school.

Yes. Let's take everyone down to the lowest common denominator. Great idea. Let's make sure that all our rules obsequiously cater to the most irrationally sensitive people. Instead of using the "rational person" rule, let's change it so that we make all our decisions based on the stupidest person. That way we'll all stop offending people, yay!
A simple political shirt is not disruptive as long as it is not a profane or discriminatory message. The "NObama" shirt is neither profane nor discriminatory. There is absolutely no reason to ban it, or any similar political clothing, regardless of which side is supported, from schools.

Today in Cypress, TX 300 students wore t-shirts with McCain peeing on Obama and shirts that said "It's called the White House for a Reason" and nothing happened to them by black students. Quit trying to race bait. Your one example in a podunk TX town fails.
lol link?

Children go to school to learn, not have a fashion show. This is another example of what happens within schools due to what people wear. If it isnt this it is that kid is wearing cheap clothes, or that kid is wearing red so he must be a blood, or that chick looks like a slut.
One major distraction within the system is what people wear. Eliminate the issue and you eliminate the problems associated with it. Schools are a place of learning. We should take measures within the public school system to make this happen.

"Student beaten up for wearing political t-shirt "
This was not an attack based on race. BTW - the attack was wrong and action should be taken against the students.
The OP follows the predictable tactic by pointing to any incident that can be found, make a statement racism is equal on both sides so nothing needs to be done about it. Pathetic.
Irrelavent, since that is not part of the story. I've seen people get beat downs for showing up at a football game with the opposing teams jersey.Originally posted by: rudder

Cause we all know if it was an anti-hillary t-shirt... the beat down would have been much worse.

An east Texas teenager is arrested for assault after authorities say he beat up another teen for wearing a political T-shirt to school.
Ryan Oster says a group of black students threatened him for wearing a "NObama" shirt to Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler. Oster says he went to the restroom and took it off, but the threat was still carried out.
The school says the incident is still being investigated. Oster's father says everyone involved in his son's attack should be charged.

Can you imagine a black student wears a No McCain/Palin t shirt and then gets threats and beat up by white students? Who is the real racist? Where is Jessie/Sharpton? When can we start a march? Where is the FBI, Dept of Justice? Where is that white student civil right?

Why do people pull this kind of BS? When one group overwhelmingly does something, and a small faction of the other does the same thing....yea, you can't reverse it like that. It doesn't work.Who is the true racist?
