Did you hear about the thunderbirds with missing pins making them unoverclockable. That goes for duron 2...I read this like 7 or 8 months ago...just forgot what site that was on can anyone remember..??
 
Seemed like a rumor a lot of sites were spreading as possibilities. I remember reading about it in these forums too. People were getting frantic, recommending Thunderbird and Duron purchases before it was too late, before the CPUs with missing pins were circulated (of course this hasn't been so... yet :Q).
 
Some jokester generated some Photoshop pictures showing Socket A chips with missing pins quite some time ago. Since then no ones has produced a live specimen. You might check with Sasquatch or Yeti to see if they might have still have some in stock but I think they're all sold out.
