A way to monitor system resources with an Apple?

For myself, I only had a mac for a day and returned it. Never figured out how to monitor resources.

theres a way, I think its in the utilities folder somewhere. Sorry I dont have any machies running atm so I can't check. Also, i remember I used a few nifty little utilites that did the same thing, they where free.
