Heres a warning that applies to those with liquid cooling (duh). ill start the warning with a condensed version of my troubled story. Friday, i received a copy of vista to beta test for where i work, under the assumption that i would bring my computer in on monday to show the new os's progress. so i went home, intalled the os, and had a great weekend, not only playing with vista and having only 1 semi-minor problem, but i also got to watch all the lord of the ring movies for the first time.
so comes monday morning. i load up my computer in the car, and headed into town. when i arrived, chance would have it that my computer did not get unloaded until about 10:30 this morning. i brought it in, hooked it up, and started to boot, after two blue screens, it wouldn't even turn on. then i heard a nasty POP!!! and i smelt the magic blue smoke. so i, assuming it was something else, did the usual troubleshooting process, but to no avail. nothing. a friend of mine later suggested that i check the chipset, and low and behold, a nice L-A-R-G-E, rectangular crack on it.
moral of the story, if have liquid cooling on your chipset, dont take it from one extreme heat then turn it on without waiting. i believed it would be fine, and there may have been other factors leading to the death of my motherboard, but belive it mainly to be the quick change in temp. thank you for taking the time to read this, as it may not appear very condenced, but i did my best.
btw, if anybody has anything to say that could cheer me up, i woulnt mind. thanks again
