A warning for Dell Demision 8200 users

Dell manufactures come through again!

Not only can i not put a ram sink on the closest ram chip to the ram slots because of about a centimeter of clearance. But i can't put a 6800GT in becuase it is too long and i can't put it all the way into the AGP slot because it hits an IDE cable coming out of an ide slot for my hard drive.

Just a warning to others that 6800gt's don't fit into dimision 8200's

DON'T worry, I had a Dimension 4500 (same chassis, same mobo) and a PNY 5700 Ultra. I got it Christmas morning, popped it in, and realized the same thing. Here's the remedy. Take that IDE plug thats blocking the card, and remove the top part of it, yes, it comes off. I believe it should have a black top, sporting a blue tag, get a needle nosed object, and remove it. Problem solved 🙂

Well, that sounds really easy. But i already sold it and bought a nice AMD set up with a 9800SE. Oh well. 🙂
