I am looking for some volunteers to help me make a VB game. I will need graphics artists, coders, and people who just want to help. Let me tell you a little bit about the project.

It will be a Dragon Ball Z Game. The card game for DBZ, Dragon Ball Z: Collectible Card Game, to be exact. Since their is none currently out, I think it would be a good move. We could even charge some money,if it came to that. I am aiming this to become really big, and by doing this by letting the users create their own cards, etc etc.

Please tell me what you think, and if you want, apply.

You will get a PM if you apply.

Not to burst your bubble, but you may want to consider possible licensing, copywrite, and trade mark issues that most likely could be invovled using the DBZ name and characters.

This is especially true if you are going to charge any fees.

I forgot. I guess I can't charge any fee's then.

If copyright is a problem,we will just have to solve it with them..

After all, there are many Triple Triad games out there, and they dont charge, and Square dont have a problem with that

If you're serious about this game, you probably want to look into writing up a design doc for your idea. It will help keep all the elements of your ideas together and keep you on track for your goals.

<< I have been planning this for 3 months. I know what I'm doing. :) >>

But that copyright issue certainly got past you... and beyond VB being "your" language, why do you think it's superior to Flash and other kits?

If he's fluent in VB and not flash, i'd say that's a good enough reason to use VB.

PS: Good luck, I'm not helping you. :p

They are two very different development platforms. VB was made to be used as a front-end for corporate data stores. Flash was made to create pretty web graphics without major bandwidth consumption. On a complex game with a lot of logic, Flash probably would suck and VB would do a bit better. But Flash has much better native image capabilities, obviously.

Of course, the real answer is Java applets, but I'm not getting near that.

You guys might want to look into the MTG online game Apprentice. I used to play regularly, and the real names and abilities of cards were copied, but the art wasn't.

You might be able to get away with something like that.

<< When did I f@ckin say it was superior..Now your sticking words in my mouth. >>

When you said:

<< I feel VB would be better. >>

Now i know that "superior" isn't your exact wording, but that's pretty damned close to "better".
