A virus? In MY bios?!

A few weeks ago my cd drive started randomly opening and closing. I unplugged it until i was not lazy enough to reformat. So, i reformatted (from xp32 to vista64) and it's still happening.

Do you guys think it's faulty hardware or something more insidious?

I unplugged SATA from the drive and left only power connected and it's still opening and closing. I guess it can only be hardware.

Yeah, seems so. Maybe the switch for the tray open/close is malfunctioning.
