My sister is wanting to get a camcorder. Well I told her she was better off saving for something she can hook to a PC so it can be copied to DVD. Well I don't know if there is such a thing but sounds like there should be. I don't want nothing that burns straight to DVD(if possible).

What I really need to know is, is there anything she can record with and then bring home and hook to a PC for transferring? If so whats the best bang for her buck camcorder? Not looking to spend a arm and a leg. But I assume its not gonna be real cheap.

If this can't be done whats her best options for doing so?

we have the sony dcr trv-19 which we got for around $500 last year. with a firewire card and a firewire cable i have hooked it up to my pc and uploaded video for editing and burning to dvd.

afaik, this is possible with all digital format camcorders.

EDIT: the recording format is miniDV.
