This is a great beer. Classified as a ESB, 6.5%, and sold in 500ml bombers.

Color is deep amber. Foam is almost white. Nose is fruits, malt, and citrous hops. The beer first comes across as moderately sweet, with hints of apricot. Not really bitter, though plenty of hops were used. Hop profile contains spices, earthiness and a hint of citrous or lime.

Drink this one at 60 Farenheit...its a great beer and you'll be amazed at the flavor.

Never heard of Young's? You need to drink more selectively!

you should be able to get it at any beer store with a decent selection of craft brews. You might want to call before you make the trip because its not universally available.

try it, you'll like it!

Actually, I've not been drinking beer for a while. I was drinking microbrews for a few years (up until 2000) and enjoying the variety at a local specialty beer/wine/tobacco store. I've moved since and will have to find another place to shop.

Thanks for the tip, at least I have something to look for now. :)

Looks interesting.

I know I've seen Young's around here so I'll have to check it out next time I'm at the beer store.

Question: Why drink it at 60 degrees? Warm beer never sounds tasty.

*GOOD* beers get better as they get slightly warmer. Only swill from Miller/Coors/AHB/Ect needs to be served ice cold to be able to be consumed.

A good stout or port will unlock the flavor as it warms up.

I was at a pub in Denver Colorado. When I order their house-brewed Porter or Stout the professional bartender-ress gave a detail information of the beer and said it was "cask-conditioned," a fancy word for room-temperature. At first I never drank 'warm beer' before and grin at such thought, later after I tried them they turned out to be just right.

I just checked my local Supplier listings and Young's isn't listed, but I know I've seen Young's Double Chocolate Stout at the local store. So, there still may be hope for you!

sounds quite nice. I like trying beers with more complex (esp. fruit) notes. I will have to go to World Market sometime this week and see what they have!

You'd probably like the lambics.

somehow I am dissappointed at their Double Chocolate (me wears flamesuits and kevlar helmet): it is not as strong/bitter as I expect, nor it is sweet at all.

my current favorites are Murphy Stout and Rupentzer Imperial Russian Stout. any other beer that's similar?

thats a nonsensical rule. 1) they really are two different beverages... impossible to compare. 2) some beers taste much better than some wines, and vice versa
