Well, it all started when I talked my Unlce into getting an internet connection. His big fear was his daughter inadvertadly opening up some pr0n and the likes. So I enabled the built-in Content Advisor, which actually didnt work that well. Anyways, one day I suddenly got this error:

<< Please check your Content Advisor settings for missing information >>

WTH!!!! No matter what, I get this error. I cant even browse the net. Even if I disable the Content Advisor, the next time I start IE 5.5 it is enabled again!! I even re-installed IE 5.5, but still get the same problem. grrrr :(. Any help is GREATLY appreciated :D

Thanks

try uninstalling the advisory program and and IE, and reinstall IE and the Program. If it happens again, uninstall the advisory prog, also check the registry and delete all entries for the advisory program and then do the same steps from the above. I usually like to rule out possibilities when it comes down to software errors. It could be anything. But just try it out

danny~!

also, try this:

open control panel
double click "add/remove programs"
find "Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and internet tools"
highlight it
click "add/remove"

A small window comes up that gives you three options. I believe it's the middle one, but there's a "repair internet explorer" choice.

Chose that, and click okay.

Reboot to be safe. If not, call 1-800-936-5700. That's Microsoft's tech support. It's 24/7 toll free. I'm not sure if they'll charge you for the support though. With operating systems that they don't support (like Win95) they'll charge, but I don't think anyone here at AT would still be running that. :)

I had this problem too!
To clear the rating, open regedit. Find the following registry key:

TextHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\policies\Ratings

Delete all keys, including subkeys, then close and restart computer.

IE will start without that horrible message!!

yeah, get a new keyboard. :D

Looks like when the keyboard reports the ASCII number corresponding to which letter you push, it's getting garbled or misunderstood at the PC. It's possible that you have a bad connection or bad keyboard. Try hooking up a new keyboard.
