A/V synch issues with large movies

Greetings,

Was just wondering why is it when I download large movies like over a gig, if I try to fast foward the movie it completely messes it up. The audio/video is completely outta synch and sometimes the video is like in fast foward. I tried to wait to see if it would synch up again and it wouldn't. Anyone know why this happens? It's usually with large AVI files. I'm using Win 7 Ultimate and WMP.

Sounds like a codec issue. What codec packs (if any) do you have installed?

Just basically divx. My computer plays pretty much everything I throw at it.

Post-production audio/video sync has been an issue since the beginning.

I'd recommend uninstalling that and trying out the Combined Community Codec Pack. It also includes the MPC-HC player, which I've found works much better for large files.
