A/V Editing "Killer Apps"?

I recently bought a new computer for NLE editing. I am interested in some professional software for A/V editing. I was wondering what some of the industry standard applications are for high end A/V editing. Through my research, I have found Adobe Premiere to be the best for video and Sonic Foundry Sound Forge to be the best for audio. Plz give me your feedback.
