About a month and a half ago, my Soyo motherboard died and I was trying to deal with that for a while, but in the mean time, I had to use my mom's HP 533 celery downstairs.
It just so happened that right when I switched and moved a few of my components downstairs, Red Alert 2 caught my eye. And I just recently finished that, which brings me back to my original #1 addiction, Counter-Strike, I figure this HP has the almighty i810 chipset and cant fail right? I mean I used to be able to chug along in this game with max settings at 99.9fps!
So I boot it up and well it looks like I can only shift it to 800x600, I guess that'll float my boat. So I go into my fave server and AHHH 4fps!! this must not be right, so I restart. This time I was able to achieve about 13fps, descent enough since I havent had a drop of CS for 1month and a half now, and I used to be the #1 M4 killer on this server, so as I'm about to buy my weapon, one of my friends decide to get smart and pull out a flash bang........BAM 2fps crawl! AHHH
Which brings me back to my original point, I can now understand why people yell "ASSAULT TROOP YOU ASS STOP THROW THOSE DAMN GRENADES!" at me when I and my clan-mate decide to throw smoke grenades like theres no tommorrow....it accually freezes up some people while we're still running around at 60fps.
I sure hope I get my RMA this week, well im goin to bed cuz i gotta get up at 8 to go snowboardin!
BTW: if you or someone you know doesnt want to experience this first hand, tell ur mom to buy a computer from Red Dawn, thats R-E-D D-A-W-N cuz you'll have something decent to game on while awaitin ur RMA! or at least a mobo with AGP so you can plug ur Geforce 2 Ultra in!
