:Q:Q Holy crap I'm still shaking. Thunder and lightning woke me up about a half hour ago. I was in the kitchen looking outside when the rain temporarily stopped. This is when all hell broke loose. The trees bent over and logs/sticks and patio furniture was flying everywhere. Car alarms were going off, trees were snapping. I couldn't believe my eyes. By the time I got downstairs it was all over.

I went back upstairs to see if there was any damage. There are felled trees and shingles are all over the place. Now comes the clean up. :(

This tornado hasn't been confirmed by the weather people yet - not that I'd trust their opinion anyway.

It's getting ready to get really ugly here. The sky is yellow and black, and thunder is rumbling. :Q

No tornado came near my place but the wind was blowin like a mofo. I've got the window in my room open and lets just say that I got quite a nice breeze :D The thunder did scare my dog half to death though.

Ok, sorry for not posting/updating (not that anybody cares). They shut the power off around 2:30 to clean up the power lines that were on the streets. But anyhoo.

The tornado was confirmed by the news/weather this evening. I was watching the 10:00 news and there was helipcopter footage of my neighborhood. There was a new house being built at the next street over. The winds picked up the house and timber and blew it about 50 yards into the yard across the street. This house was shown on tv along with several eye witness accounts and interviews. There's been local news people all over the place trying to get "live" video footage of all the damage.

The damage is much worse than I initially thought. Just driving around, I saw a few houses completly demolished, along with several garages and fallen walls - not to mention the hundreds of trees. What a horrible day.

By the way I found my camera and took some pictures of the neighborhood. The sun came out pretty much right after the storm. You'll notice this in some of the pics. What a cruel joke. :(

I'm north of Atlanta and we were just under a tornado watch about half an hour ago. There's another system on it's way from Alabama/Tennessee in about 45 minutes.

When I was a kid, a tornado made a tight circle around our house, but didn't touch anything. We were very lucky, and it was thankfully a very small tornado.

I love tornadoes, I have been in like 10 storms where one was within a few miles of me and a couple where the wen through our yard. "Allright everyone grap a flashlight, a book, your blanket and pillow and head downstairs."
