I visted a site the other day via typo, and it installed this disgusting toolbar right below the address bar, any thoughts on how to rid myself of it?

find the running programs on your comp, or the name of it some other way. should be in add-remove programs under settings.

Bet it's called xupiter! Ba$tard program. What you need to do is download a program called Adaware. It will remove all stupid marketing programs from your computer.

if all else fails

regedit
hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\internet explorer\toolbar

on the right you'll see a bunch of numbers hopefully youll be able to pick up a suspicious one by the description. confirm ti by going to hkey_classroot\clsid\thatnumber and checking out its info. you can unregister the the file using regsvr32 /u and then get rid of the toolbar by deleting the entry under software\microsft\internet explorer\toolbar
