As I'm sure you all know, Tarrant, Denton and Collin county have all banned fireworks use under their "burn ban" because of our lack of rain this year.

Well I have a tradition to carry on, I shoot off $200 worth of fireworks every year, and be damned if I'm going to stop now.

Unincorporated Dallas county has NO restrictions against fireworks. So my question is, where is a chunk of unicorporated Dallas county that we can use for fireworks? Surely some enterprising land owner is willing to take some cash in order to let people shoot off fireworks in their field.

Any ideas are welcome.

Those who think I'm not responsible, and that I'll burn the whole state down can go elsewhere.

This is the first time this has ever happened. Hopefully next year everything will be normal again. Assuming it rains between now and then. :D

how random

Fireworks are a way of life.

Last year I went to this place where they had firebombs. Not so much a firework as a little container filled with gunpowder. It made a fireball about 50 feet high and 30 feet in diameter. The heat and force of the explosion knocked you back a little. It was awesome.

That Ban burn crap is here in San Antonio too. I'm still going to pop some fireworks. Went in my friends backyard, and in his front yard and we went fireworks crazy.

I know there is some unincorporated land out by argyle but I think thats tarrant county. Maybe east part of dallas county, out by wiley/sachse?

edit: just thought of something: Mapsco shows city boundaries and it will show "Dallas County" for unincorporated land. So, grab a mapsco and go searching for uninhabited land or for people who will give you permission to use it.

If you can get up on the roof at Baylor Medical in Grapevine there's a great view to be had.

And yes, the Sheriff will come for you outside of the city limits if you're shooting off fireworks.

Are all fireworks celebrations off?

I grew up in Arlington - live in Central Pennsylvania now (it blows) - and I used to watch them at the Ballpark all of the time. Was wondering if those big offical sort of things were a no-go.

No, those are all still on. Just private fireworks use is prohibited.

Fortunately, I found our answer. Johnson county has NO fireworks ban. There's plenty of places to shoot off the fireworks, and there are some fireworks warehouses just south of Burleson!
