A Thought on Reposts

the amount of archived posts should be very very large. The amount of time to do that by default will load down the system and frustrate a user. They would probably never do a searches and just accept the re-post posts in their thread.

I just did a test, searching for "repost" in current messages, and then in archived messages. Each time it took 3-4 seconds. Doesn't look like searching the archive takes any longer to me.

Since I am not here 24/7 reposts do not bother me at all. What is a repost to one is fresh material for others. Most often these harsh admonitions of REPOST in bold letters are things I haven't even seen before.

is it better to repost, or to bring back a topic thats been dead for a long time?

i figure if its new to you and its not clearly visible on the first page, then its fair game to post.

If its archived, who cares if its a repost. Its really annoying when people post somthing when there's already 3 different threads about it (with clearly labeled titles) on the first page of the forums.
