Took both tests today in one hour. That was pretty easy. Scores are weird though: 849/1300 for Hardware and 739/1300 for OS.

On the certificate, it said i may want to "identify common problems and determine how to resolve them." Guess i never got around to things like that?

excuse my ignorance...

you say that the exam was easy...

849/1300...
&
739/1300...

is that a passing grade?

when it ook the test last year I was done in 15minutes. Once you reach a certain point int he scoring the test just stops. at least that how it was done.

Yup, they are passing by at least 100 points each.

I think the grading system is rather odd, and now I think I remember hearing others say the same thing. I know its a lame test, but thankfully I didn't have to pay the $210 for it (family is "sponsoring" me).

are the questions on the actual test about the same caliber as the ones that you find on the web, like the practice exams? i know i can pass, but i want to do as well as i possibly can. just curious about how hard you thought the test was.

<< yes they are. otherwise the practice tests on the web would be worthless. >>

hehe, yeah. i just thought maybe that they made them easier so that when you got to the real test you thought "oh man, i'm not ready for this" and had to go back and study more.

The questions are pretty similar, at least on the practice CD i have that came with my book. I was "right at home" when I took the test ... in fact i dozed off a little.

that's how things were with nt4 server.

things were so close to the practice exams...
the market got diluted with too many mcp's and mcse's.

now they made things a bit more difficult...
which is better for everyone in my opinion.

study hard and know the material.

Anyone got any good books or websites or something to study for the test? Also, does being A+ certified really mean anything these days?

Practice questions:
Braindumps.com

Any book by Mike Meyers is good from what I hear. I used his A+ Passport Certification book and had no problem passing.

I passed both last November. I used Mike Myers 3rd Edition A+. Good book I read it from front to back and took my own notes along the way.
