Obama is a mirror in which many many assholes appear. But a wave is coming and it will wash those assholes away.

does this guy even think about what he is reading when the scripts are handed to him? How could you hear about a 10,000+ death toll and not jump on google or cnn to get more info?

So how does that rate alongside making up shit that starts a multi-trillion dollar war?

GWB is spending our money over there so he doesn't have to spend it here.

You have a severe lack of imagination. Try this.

Get up in the morning, read and memorize a stack of facts and figures on healthcare, war costs, the economy, natural disasters, polling numbers, electoral vote statistics, union membership data, delegate and popular vote counts from every state, and your kids' and wife's birthdays. 100 of this. 2.4 billion of that. 300,000 exports and 256 million imports. 3500 troops and 10,000 in reserve. Oil price fluctuations, the price of milk, the price of gas. Then field questions from a hungry press corp. Do a few interviews. Travel 3 hours in a bus or plane to another town and repeat. Shake some hands, sit down with people, give a speech, respond to more questions citing those figures you read this morning. Maybe you get a quick meal in somewhere. Meet with your advisors and get status updates and new speeches and facts and figures and polling numbers and other data. Then go to sleep for 2-3 hours.

Then get up and do it again. And again. For month after month. If after 6+ months you don't accidentally say 10,000 when you meant 10, or Sunni when you meant Shia, or October when you meant Florida, you deserve a fucking medal.

Now run along child, grownups are trying to have a discussion.

Ahh I see the believers had their jesus exposed and cant handle it.

I rather enjoy watching Obama turn back into a mere mortal human with each passing day.

Ooops, he meant Buchenwald. Hang him.

This misses the larger point which is that in 24 hour news media coverage, we are playing gotcha politics with candidates and jumping on them for the slightest error. It's not a good way to pick a president, and you think we might have learned that by now.

Maybe it is just the opposite?

Maybe, just maybe, the believers haven't had their "Jesus" exposed but the non-believers had their "Satan/anti-Christ" debunked?

In looking of the "list", I saw some things that are of concern. I also saw some things that I think amount to the ant hill in my front yard.

Examples:

57 states - My first thought was that this was done purposefully while campaigning in Pittsburgh during the PA primaries. For those that don't know, Pgh is home of Heinz and their 57 varieties. After seeing that it was in Oregon, I chalked it up to fatigue. After all, Oregon is/was the 47th state primary.

Life mag article - seriously? Is this the best that you can come up with? I remember a lot of articles that I have read (or at least I think that I do) that turn out being almost the polar opposite of what the actual article or source was.

Obama "bring troops home yesterday - I think that the GOP's hard on for anything that they can find has drained too much blood from their brain. The fact that he said he "wants to bring the troops home yesterday" and then he states what he "can do" as president is comical. I "want to retire yesterday" but I know that I "have to work" until I am in a position to do that. You see, you can "want" to do something but know that it isn't practical or feasible.

Not run for President - Here's McCain on MTP

MR. RUSSERT: But let me ask you seriously about your age because, back in 2000, "`You think you'll ever run for president?' McCain: `In 2004, I expect to be campaigning for the reelection of Gov. Bush, and by the year 2008, I believe that my age would not equip me to run.'" And then you, rather humorously, said that you expect in 2008 to have your feet on the railing of the old soldier's home waiting for someone to come blow the cavalry charge. And in your book you wrote that you probably don't--you probably thought you wouldn't have the chance to run again.

"Practicing Muslim" - hasn't this crap already been debunked a few thousand times?

"Botched his facts" - who hasn't?

"He didn't even remember what he was doing on Sept. 27" - quick, tell me what you were doing on Feb. 3rd without referencing anything.

I can't even get through the rest of it because it is so freaking petty, stupid or downright intellectually dishonest to make as claims.

So, the best the repubs can come up with is some distorted facts about his family past which makes no difference and the fact he couldn't remember the correct magazines?

Please format this crap, It's been posted on at least 15 other forums I can think of and they did a better job formating it than you did.

Not to mention, half the "lies" are him talking about his political future. Which is hindsight was a good idea since the rebups are scrambling so much for dirt on this guy we get this crap

"JohnM": Well, Mr.Obama, I don't think you deserve to be president because you forgot the right magazine, lied about your political aspirations, and your father forced you to attend a Muslim school which of course makes you a Muslim!"

That about sums up your article/copy paste hack.

Poor Dems. I hear Obama is getting ready for a speech where he says he was one of the ER aides that helped Kennedy when he was shot!

(that was sarcasm!)

Did you expect anything different? This forum is full of obamabots and don't you know you can't point out anything "bad" or "questionable" about him? He's the messiah...surely we should ignore his past and what he says and just "hope"...
He's no messiah, the best thing he has going for him is that he's not a Republican which should be enough after 8 years of a disasterous Republican Administration.

Notice A disasterous Republican Administration. Not all republicans are bad, and not all democrats are bad. The bad ones are the ones that are so stuck on party lines that they vote Dem or Rep because that's their party. They, read YOU have no ability to think for yourself and make informed decisions based on observation of fact. So far we have McCain who admits he's not a great economist, he was a POW and it's easily proven, then we have Obama and Clinton who seem to be in a bid to out lie each other and act like they are flawless and perfect. That there is a problem as it shows they are unwilling to accept the help of others unless they can get all the credit.
As far as good or bad administrations, if Obama or Billary get elected, this country is going to go down faster than a $2 whore.
We are 6 feet under in debt, and they want to add to it with their "universal health care" bullshit.
If you want universal health care and socialist living (and way higher taxes), Europe is just a plane trip to the right.

I didn't see anything in the OP regarding Obama's faith, but re: the muslim thing, my understanding was that, at least according to the religion, if you're born to a muslim father, you're muslim, regardless of whether you actually practice or not. the correct response should be, so what if he is?

Wow, you guys are super sensitive. Should we lock the thread about Bushisms too? Or how about the hundreds of other threads over the past 8 years about Bush making stupid gaffes? Lighten up, I doubt anyone is going to change their vote due to a few gaffes.

I'm pretty sure jpeyton's Bush-isms post was in response to this one and at least it's formatted a whole lot better. Bush relishes the bumbling good old boy image anyway. :p

If this thread wasn't simply a copy/paste full of deliberately misleading half-truths then it might have some merit. Like many of blankangst's posts, it does not.

This thread is pretty lame. Blackangst is making this big deal of HE LIED HE LIED HE LIED. Whereas for almost all of this it's one of the following. Complete misinformation and fabrication on the part of the source. Obama not fact checking every anecdote and story told to him about his family history by his family (hell, I'm not gonna go check to see if my dad has employment records of a specific popcorn shop and was working during the Detroit 12th Street Riots, one of many stories I've heard from him). The occasional misspeak, which each politician is given alot of leeway on. Hell, if we berated Bush for every misspeak he made ... well we'd probably have to hang him (and that's just the accidental ones).

And I'd have to say he needs to hire a better speach writer, that one I'll fault Obama for.

I also like that we're actually going so far as to say he's changing his position because of a half hearted hand raise he did while in a room full of others ... that one's my favorite nitpick bullshit.

Can't we like just make it constitutionally illegal to be a conservative or something and make the world a better place. They won't care they completely disregard the constitution as much as possible anyway.

What the fuck is up with all of the "gotcha" politics. Seriously, people want a better America whereby politicians debate issues and problems in this country. Yet, when the slightest misstatement is made, they jump all over the candidate like they just fucking launched a war.

It's not like Obama was walking through central Baghdad with an armored corps protecting him while claiming it was a midwestern America stroll through a town.

Seriously, this is just fricking ridiculous.

The difference in the posts, was that the Bush-ism post (which I found HILARIOUS) was made up of bumbling stumbling of words. This one is of well articulated lies.

Big difference.
