A+ study guide

can someone give me a good reference (website or book) to learn the fundamentals and technicals for A+ certification? I have played around in upgrading, repairing, and building my own PC(s) for a couple years, but I get the feeling the A+ exam requires knowledge about all the legacy bus types, memory speeds, etc that I don't really get just by trial-and-error.

also, if anyone knows, as an A+ technician, is it true that you can repair PC's under warranty? could I order my own replacement parts for free (the ones under warranty anyway)?

thanks.

I recently passed my A+ and I think this book was pretty much right on to the tested subjects. It's a BIG book, and he says that he goes deeper into some things than required, but I found it good background. There are also a few sites around the web that have free practice tests. This link has a bunch. I think I would have had a chance to pass it without all of the studying, but they like to ask for proper lengths and speeds and where things are found, and I wouldn't have known the exact numbers to most of them without reading it.

While A+ is a good thing to have, and most decent PC repair places require you to have it to work for them, it does not give you instant rights to do warranty work, or to be accepted as an approved tech. Dell and HP want you to pass their tests as well, to work on their stuff.
