she just wouldn't stop screaming "You're not my boyfriend!"

I took apart my laptop and the WiFi card was being stubborn too. I rammed harder and harder, but I only managed to wear it down and now I can't get any friction. It just doesn't feel as good, y'know? Now I can't take out my WiFi card and don't know where to go from here.

Any experience? w0t do?

Drill it out maybe. You should have used a better screwdriver, or a different tool before you dicked it up that bad.

HP by chance?

I do a good amount of work on them, the air cards in some of their tablets seem to be torqued down pretty good, and the metal they use seems as soft as butter.

Nope, my X220 Thinkpad. I've taken it apart almost completely before but I didn't touch the WiFi card. I didn't have any trouble with any of the screws using this same screwdriver either, it's just that single one that decided to pester me.

Has anyone tried one of these?

If I can't get that to work I might get a small pair of pliers.

I'm worried about using a drill because the screw is one of those tiny 3mm screws. I really don't want to try that unless I have to. I do want to replace this stupid Realtek WiFi card with the new one I bought :(

Your driver was too tiny and now that you've stripped her there's no chance her head is going to engage with your tool.

You need to go BDSM on her w/

try using a small needle nose, insert the end of the pliers into the head, push down, and then spread them. just try to get friction, baby.

edit: or like Dixy said :)

If you had a manual impact driver it would be worth a try with your best bit.

It turns when you hit it with a hammer. I realize you don't want to be hitting a laptop all that hard, but having it turn at the same time it is being pushed down is the recipe for it to break loose that screw.

Another thing to try is to solder on a metal stick and then twist the metal stick. Or make it a T bar then solder it on the screw.

I thought of this as my first response but couldn't get to be funny enough.
