A SPAM first for me! Someone in south africa needs help!

I just got one of them - first time ever!
Dr.Francis S. Mboma, a native of Cape Town, South Africe needs help concerning $45.560 million dollars.

Lovely translation job they did too:
"Assurance and guarantee that our share will be secured and please remember to treat this as very confidential because, we will not comprehend with any form of exposure as we are still in active Government Service..."

Just thought the world would like to know. 😛

No way! I saw the email first! the money's mine mine mine! It was an actual letter that he sent to 100's of people... I was the only one the first time around to believe it, and now I'm filthy rich.

Every time I get one, it seems to be help for a different person each time. I've received probably a 100 of these over the past couple of years.

I don't get them. Clearly they're spam, but is it spam trying to ilicit responses so that spammers can gather valid email addresses, or are there people really trying to pull these wack scams off all the time?

If it is the latter, it'd be kinda fun to fsck with these people.

Geez, what the hell....I almost never get any junkmail, like maybe 2 a week. Now I come home to about 22 spams - all from different addresses, but the contents all say almost the same thing:
See the attached file for details

or

Please see the attached file for details.

With subjects varying, repeated a few times each:
Re: Approved
Re: Thank you!
Re: Details

etc etc.

Weird thing is, there never was a file attached.
So what gives with this? Someone being an idiot or something? Moron on the forums messing around?

Just noticed too - they're spaced close to a half hour apart. All were mailed with Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2600.0000, though that could be forged. The headers are forged apparently - one is from Paypal.com supposedly. It started at 5:14pm yesterday, and I got one about every half hour, up until 9:19am today - got a total of 34 messages in that span.
Strange.
