After perusing the hot deals forum I decided I should upgrade my unit. This will be my first self-built computer. I do not know how to select a motherboard for this processor or even what to look for in a motherboard in terms of compatibility and performance. I'm looking to spend under $100 for the motherboard. Preferably with onboard LAN at least.

Also, is there anything special I need to know about building an AMD system?

Thanks for your wisdom,

cmai

I know you said under $100 but I recommended the NF7-s (which was recommended to me by Shady, thanks dude) because it only costs about $114 with shipping and all that at ExcaliberPC (thanks to Shady again) and my friend didn't regret spending a little extra. I mean a mobo is the backbone on your computer. Would you skimp on your backbone? But yea, I guess along with everyone else, 8rda+ is one helluva motherboard for that price. Look up the NF7-s and compare features, it has a lot going for it at only $109.

FIC AU13, $85 at Fry's (and compost.com), newegg, mwave, etc.

I like my 8RDA+, too.
