Every now and then, I get a PM asking how I add things like arrows and daggers to my posts. It suprises me how few of you know about HTML entities. :)

Anyway, I've decided to inform the uninformed by making this post. If anyone remembers the CSS link fad, you'll know what I expect will happen...

Just stick these "codes" wherever you want a symbol to appear. Note that you can't use them in titles or sigs.

ARROWS:
↑ ↑
↓ ↓
← ←
→ →
↔ ↔

SYMBOLS:
♥ ♥
♦ ♦
♠ ♠
♣ ♣
∴ ∴
† †
‡ ‡
◊ ◊
∞ ∞

LETTEREY THINGS:
∀ ∀
∃ ∃
Œ Œ
× ×

You can find a more complete set here. And that's just named entities, wait'll you try Unicode... :D

EDIT: Unicode is done thusly:
♖ ♖

& larr; will come in handy instead of

<----- Nef

I can do

← Nef

/me waits for FT to prevent the use of named entities/unicode ;)

The first one is not a swastika, if you were wondering.

Can someone PLEASE show me how to do the single character "flip off", haha. I love that. Some guy has it here in his signature with a smiley face in between. And I'm teh dumb.
