Humans never cease to amaze me when it comes to the depths of their cruelty.
There's an artist, Nathalia Edenmont, who kills cats, mice, doves, RABBITS, and other animals, mutilates their bodies, and then takes their photographs. She's on exhibit, among other places, at the Wetterling Gallery in Sweden. She has taken the top halves of five white mice and made them into finger puppets. She beat a cat to death with a stick. And this is called art. This is not only inhumane, but morally reprehensible.

How is that obvious? I think its definately creative. Supporting is another issue but to attack creativity because you don't support the method is unjustified.

No more offensive than leather, rabbit's feet, or a host of other things that we incorporate into our daily lives without a second thought.

The only reason this is getting attention is because the animals are recognizable.

Got any proof of that? If not, that borders on libelous.

If true, I would consider that to be offensive. Given how the animals in her "art" are used, though, beating them to death with a stick would seem to provide undesirable results. Her animals are in apparently perfect condition, save for them being dead.

I'm tempted to beat her for making me have to scroll left and right to see the pictures. They're kinda cool though. Art meets taxidermy (not to say taxidermy isn't an art to itself).
 
I'm personally quite tired of everything that seems to constitute art these days. From an idiot who melts and spreads cheese throughout a room to some sadist who kills animals, it seems the major requirement for artistic notoriety is controversy or absurdity.

In many cultures that is completely normal. If those cultures could see how we treated our cats & dogs they would shake their heads & say "WTF are they thinking?" Just like you would if someone had a cow or a chicken living with them.

Eating cats is no different than eating a hamburger, if you think it is you have led a very sheltered life.

You are a fool for not seeing that in this day and age killing animals for food is unnessacary for us. Killing for unnessacary reasons = killing for unnessacary reasons you don't need a math degree to figure that one out. People hunt animals for trophies all the time. The only reason people are up in arms is she did a little extra work and is showing it off.

Frankly, after looking at her work it doesn't look all that bad. The art that has all decayed looking corpses looks a lot worse imo.
