Clear fossil record from 65 million years ago, and yet we have a Republican Vice Presidential candidate whose yahoo religious beliefs may well lead her to reject all of this out of hand.

I thought carbon dating wasn't accurate past a couple thousand years? How did they know that it's 65 million years old?

Actually the opposite. Carbon dating isn't accurate under a couple thousand years. The older it is, the more useful carbon dating becomes.

Also, carbon dating is accurate to about 150 million years ago. So its well within the accuracy range

Actually you're closer to correct. Radiocarbon dating is only accurate to 50,000 years or so. There are quite a few other methods, however, that are accurate for much longer periods of time.

I thought about that during the broadcast :)

Maybe Gov Palin can't count the zeros past 6,500.

That was a good NOVA. Interesting that they determined dinosaurs were most likely warm-blooded
