I was instructed to come to some concluded idea as to what we could do given these parameters:

1. We want something that could be "reprogrammed" to display whatever we need at any given time.
2. About 36".
3. It probably won't be controlled by a computer, most likely a DVD player or something of that sort.

This is intended to be almost like advertising space for general info on happenings around campus. I was asked to look into LED displays, LCD displays, plasma, etc... to see what the best route would be. I've come to the conclusion that a proper LCD/plasma display would be best as the LED display would only be able to cycle through marquees and the like (unless someone else knows something I don't, which is highly likely).

Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

led displays can be really awsome. they can show as much content as a regular lcd but are going to be more expensive. most of the video screens you see at sports and concerts are now led, they also require a somewhat special processor to power them.
