i remember when this forum died down A LOT when they did the stupid split on the forum and turned OT into like 30 different subforums.

back then you literally could refresh the first page of OT and threads would keep moving.

I remember being a reader of hardwarecentral.com forums, and those forums totally died when they took off topic forum out. the reason being was it was creating too many problems LOL. well they don't have problems now because they don't have any members.

Only thing was moderation was at times very nasty compared to even now although a lot of it is hidden now because of the moderator discussions. :(

A lot of the stuff we get away with now would be perm bans then although I can't speak from person experiance... ;)

^ HWC, where I originally came here from. Once good times. Looking at it today where the last posts are days, weeks, months old. So sad.

I agree. Totally ruined the Forum for me.

There aren't that many banned members. A lot of the ones you see when going through old threads are hardly even remembered today.

Most of those people were banned for being trolls. If they had followed my good examples and learned to be positive contributors to the forums like I am they would still be able to post today, like I do.

I think the 1/3 for banned members is because many times when they get banned they create another ID which also gets banned and repeat the process every so often.

Err...I mean what? I've never been banned before.

This forum went through a puritanical phase for a while where everyone got banned.

:awe:

You were kind of repetitive and predictable in your earlier posts, but you've shown amazing progression and have claimed your obvious persona so plainly that it is noteworthy on its own. I love you.

Nah, the Change of Culture wasn't that drastic on a perma-ban level. Many that were brought down during it came back for at least a while.

Some of us long-term members just don't post as much as we used to... Heck - I never was a big poster anyway ;)
